Story of duty and love in the battle of Galwan – Obnews

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, the makers of Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama *Battle of Galwan* released the romantic track “Main Hoon” as a special gift for the fans. Filmed on Salman Khan and Chitrangada Singh, the song—sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Ayaan Lal—affectionately captures the essence of love in the midst of duty. It captures happy family moments and togetherness along with the quiet longing and loneliness that comes when a soldier answers the call of his country.

The makers described “Main Hoon” as “the transformation of a relationship from love, family togetherness and laughter to loneliness and silent longing”. Composed by Ayaan Lal and with lyrics co-written by Shabbir Ahmed, the tune highlights the emotional beats of a soldier’s family life.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under Salman Khan Films, *Battle of Galwan* is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. The teaser of the film, released in December 2025, gave a glimpse of Salman’s intense role as an Indian Army officer facing difficult high altitude conditions, rugged terrain and close combat.

Earlier, in January 2026, the release of the patriotic song “Mathrubhoomi”—composed by Himesh Reshammiya, sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with lyrics by Sameer Anjan—sparked deep pride for the country and garnered over 50 million views.

The song was earlier scheduled to release on April 17, 2026, but has now been postponed to August 14, 2026, to maximize the patriotic fervor amid the ongoing post-production and Ministry of Defence’s approval. The new romantic track adds an emotional layer to this war drama’s story of bravery, sacrifice and love.
