An accident occurred while taking a taxi in dense fog.

According to Air India, the incident occurred when the aircraft was taxiing on the runway amid dense fog. Visibility was very low, due to which this accident occurred. The plane had landed safely and was moving towards the apron when the incident occurred. The incident is said to have happened around 5.25 in the morning.

How did the container enter the engine?

According to media reports and ANI information, a BWFS tug was carrying containers in the baggage makeup area of Terminal 3. Meanwhile, a container tug fell on the runway at the junction of taxiways N and N4. At the same time, Air India’s A350 aircraft was passing by and that container directly collided with engine number 2 of the aircraft, causing serious damage to the engine.

The flight to New York had to return

An Air India spokesperson said that flight AI101 was going from Delhi to New York, but due to the sudden closure of Iran’s airspace, the plane had to return to Delhi midway. The plane made a safe landing. After this, when the plane was taxiing, this container entered the engine.
