Major accident in Andhra Pradesh, bus collides with lorry and turns into a ball of fire, 14 passengers burnt alive, 20 in critical condition

A horrific road accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. A private bus and a gravel-laden truck collided head-on in Markapuram mandal near Raivaram, killing at least 13 people. The collision was so severe that both the vehicles immediately caught fire, which engulfed the entire bus and truck within a few minutes. 13 passengers were burnt to death in the fire, while around 20 others were seriously injured. The injured were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, where the condition of many remains critical.

Markapuram DSP Harshvardhan Raju said that the accident occurred when the bus was going from Jagityala to Kaligiri. After the collision, there was a loud noise and the bus caught fire. Both the vehicles caught fire and were completely burnt to ashes.
