Major accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, army vehicle fell into a deep ditch, 10 soldiers died

Bulletproof vehicle fell into 200 feet deep ditch

According to information received from military officials, this tragic accident happened near Khani Top located on Bhadarwah-Chamba interstate road. A bulletproof army vehicle carrying 17 soldiers was going towards a post located in a high altitude area. Then suddenly the vehicle slipped from the road and fell straight into a ditch about 200 feet deep. The accident was so terrible that the vehicle was blown apart and 10 soldiers lost their lives on the spot.

Rescue operation started immediately

As soon as information about the accident was received, joint teams of army and police immediately reached the spot. The local people also supported the soldiers and police in the rescue operation without any delay. During the rescue operation, the mortal remains of 10 soldiers were taken out from the ditch. The injured soldiers were immediately taken out of the trench, the condition of some of whom is said to be very critical. Seriously injured soldiers have been admitted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur by helicopter for special treatment.

Army ordered investigation

The Indian Army has issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over this incident. The Army has said that a detailed investigation has been ordered to find out the cause of the accident. Also, the best medical facilities are being provided to the injured soldiers.
