Major accident in Mukundpur, Delhi, house collapsed due to gas cylinder explosion, rescue operation underway

New Delhi: A very painful and horrific accident has come to light from Bhalswa Dairy police station area of ​​North-West Delhi. A domestic LPG cylinder suddenly exploded with a loud bang inside a house in Mukundpur area here on Tuesday morning. The blast was so severe that within no time the single storey house built in about 250 square yards was razed to the ground like a house of cards.

After this accident, there was an outcry in the area and many people living in the house got buried under the debris. As soon as information about the incident was received, teams of local police, ambulance and Delhi Fire Department immediately reached the spot and started search and rescue operations on war footing. It is a matter of relief that till now 6 people have been taken out safely from the debris.

Fire department received information

According to senior officials of Delhi Fire Service, the control room received an emergency call at exactly 9.37 am today. The caller told that there has been a massive explosion in street number 1 of Ishu Vihar located in Mukundpur Part-2 and due to its impact the entire house has collapsed. Seeing the seriousness of the accident, the fire headquarters immediately sent a total of 5 fire engines and rescue teams to the accident site one after the other.

The house was destroyed in a moment

Station Officer Giriraj of the fire department has confirmed on the basis of investigation that this accident happened due to the explosion of LPG cylinder. It is being told that some daily wage laborers lived on rent with their families in this huge single storey house of 250 yards. In the morning, when food was being prepared in the house, suddenly a cylinder caught fire and there was a massive explosion.

Injured admitted to hospital

Fire brigade personnel and police immediately started rescue operations with the help of local people to bring out the people buried under the debris. Till now, a total of six people including two women have been removed from the debris. It is a matter of relief that two of these people have suffered very minor injuries.

Ambedkar admitted to hospital

After giving quick first aid, all the injured were admitted to the nearby Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital through ambulance. He is undergoing treatment here under the supervision of doctors. Administrative officials say that now there is no possibility of any more people being trapped inside the debris. But as a precautionary measure, the work of completely removing the concrete debris is going on.
