New Delhi: A major accident took place this morning on NH-63 in Yellapur, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It is being told that a truck laden with fruits lost its balance and fell into a ditch. 8 people died on the spot when the truck fell into the ditch, while 10 people were seriously injured.

According to the information, a major road accident took place this morning in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It is being told that 10 people died and 15 others were injured when a truck laden with vegetables overturned on NH-63 in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. The incident occurred when a truck carrying people going from Savanur to Kumta market to sell vegetables met with an accident. In this accident, the truck lost its balance and fell into the ditch. At least 10 people lost their lives and 15 others were injured in this accident. The incident occurred near Yellapur on National Highway 63 between Arabail and Gullapura.

As soon as the information about this incident was received, the police reached the spot and all the injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital, where the condition of some is said to be critical. According to Karwar Superintendent of Police Narayan M, all the injured people were going from Savanur towards Kumta market to sell their vegetables. The truck was also loaded with fruits and had more than 30 people on board when it overturned. It is being told that this accident happened at around 5:30 in the morning. Superintendent of Police says that the truck driver lost control while trying to give way to another vehicle. The vehicle went off the left side of the road and fell into a ditch about 50 meters below.

It is being told that emergency response teams immediately reached the spot to conduct rescue operations. After the accident, the death of eight people was being confirmed, but now the death toll has increased to 10. Apart from this, many injured are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. Most of the victims killed and injured in this accident were vegetable vendors who were going to the market to sell their produce.
