Sahibganj: A tragic accident took place on the ghat of river Ganga in Sahibganj on Friday. The vehicle of the fire brigade which had come to fill water in the river Ganga got stuck in the river Ganga. During this tour, the soldiers sitting in the vehicle drowned in the river Ganga along with the vehicle.

Actually, on Saturday morning the fire brigade had reached the ferry ghat of Rajmahal to fill water. Here, to fill water in the ropeway, fire personnel Mohammad Sajlim was backing the fire engine towards the ghat, during this time the vehicle developed a fault and it started rolling backwards rapidly. During this time, Mohammed Sajlim showed wisdom and jumped open the gate, but constable Arun Kumar could not get out of the vehicle and he fell into the river Ganga along with the vehicle. After information about this incident, Sub-Divisional Officer Kishore Kumar, Circle Officer Mohd. Yusuf, Inspector Shyamlal Hansda, Radha Nagar police station in-charge Nitesh Pandey and other officers reached the spot. Teams have been deployed to rescue the fire engine. The district administration team is engaged in the rescue, but till now the constable along with the fire engine has not been found. NDRF team has also been called for rescue.
