Major action by Election Commission in Jharkhand; The Director General of Police was removed.

Ranchi/Read. Election Commission big action: After stopping the funds for Girl Sister Scheme in Maharashtra, the Election Commission has turned its attention towards Jharkhand. An order has been given to remove the Director General of Police from the post. In the last elections, many complaints were received against Director General of Police Anurag Gupta. Due to this, the Election Commission has ordered the immediate removal of Gupta before this time's assembly elections. The reason cited for Gupta's removal was his history of complaints.

The state government has also been asked to remove Gupta (Election Commission big action) and submit a report. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Gupta was accused by JMM of bias. After this he was relieved from the post of ADG (Special Branch) of Jharkhand. After this he was sent to Delhi. Also, a ban was imposed on returning to the state till the completion of the election process.

In 2016 also, Gupta was accused of misuse of position in the Rajya Sabha elections (Election Commission big action). The Election Commission had issued a charge sheet against him after investigation. After this a departmental inquiry was conducted against him. Considering all this history, this time the Election Commission has taken this action against Gupta.
