Major action by NIA: 6 Ukrainians and 1 American citizen arrested, accused of drone-weapon training in Myanmar
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken a major action and arrested seven foreign nationals. These include six Ukrainian citizens and one American citizen. They are accused of providing training related to terrorist activities in Myanmar. According to the NIA, all the accused had entered India illegally and were allegedly involved in training in weapons operations and drone operations in Myanmar.
The investigation has also revealed that the drones used in the training were purchased from Europe. The arrested accused were produced in the special NIA court, from where they have been sent to 11-day NIA custody.
At present, the agency is intensively interrogating the accused regarding illegal entry, weapons training, drone operation and drone procurement network. Besides, it is also being investigated whether they are connected to any big terrorist organization or network and whether they were training people for any big terrorist module. NIA is also investigating the international connections of this entire case, due to which more big revelations are likely to be made in the coming days.
