A big racket of black marketing of LPG cylinders busted in Delhi, 610 gas cylinders found in a warehouse in Mundka during AEKC raid
A big racket of black marketing of LPG cylinders has been exposed in Mundka area of New Delhi. Anti Extortion and Kidnapping Cell (AEKC) of Delhi Police Crime Branch has conducted a raid and recovered a total of 610 gas cylinders from a warehouse, which were stored against the rules. The Crime Branch had received information that a large number of LPG cylinders had been illegally stored in the warehouse of a gas agency in Mundka area. Investigation revealed that the agency is only an authorized distributor of Indane’s commercial cylinders.
610 illegal cylinders were seized from the warehouse, which included cylinders of Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas. There is a possibility of selling these cylinders collected in violation of rules at higher prices. Police have registered an FIR and are searching for the absconding warehouse owner.
The Crime Branch had received information that a large number of LPG cylinders had been illegally stored in the warehouse of a gas agency in Mundka area. After this the police team conducted a raid under the leadership of Inspector Amit Solanki. This action was taken under the supervision of ACP Pankaj Arora and DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
Police raided the warehouse of Guruji Indane Gas Service. Investigation revealed that the agency is only an authorized distributor of Indane’s commercial cylinders, but a large number of Bharat Gas and HP Gas cylinders were also kept in the warehouse, which is against the rules. During the raid, the police found a total of 610 cylinders, which included both filled and empty cylinders.

Of these, 197 were filled and 392 were empty cylinders, while 21 small cylinders were also recovered.
Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Department officer Vikas Kumar was also present during the raid. According to him, keeping cylinders of other companies in the warehouse of any Indane agency is against the rules. In this case, FIR has been registered in the Crime Branch police station.
Investigation revealed that according to the records of Indian Oil Corporation, the stock of commercial cylinders of Indane with this agency should have been zero by March 10, 2025, but 133 filled cylinders were found on the spot. Improper storage of so many cylinders is also dangerous from safety point of view. According to the police, often a large number of cylinders are collected in this way and when there is shortage in the market, they are sold at higher prices and black marketed.
