Major incident at HPCL plant in Badaun, murder of manager and deputy manager

The murder of the Chief Manager Project and Deputy Manager at the ethanol plant of HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh has created a sensation. The car-borne attacker entered the plant and opened fire on both of them. Both died on the spot. According to the police, the person who worked as an operator in the plant committed the incident on Thursday afternoon and managed to escape from the spot.

 

The incident took place in Saijni village under Musazhag police station of Badaun district. HPCL has an ethanol plant here. Sudhir Gupta, resident of Noida, was the chief manager of the plant and Harshit Mishra of Bareilly was the deputy manager. Ajay Pratap Singh, who worked as an operator in the plant itself, shot and killed both of them on Thursday afternoon. In fact, after being removed from the job, the accused was having a dispute with the management for the last six months. He had also entered the plant on February 6 and threatened to kill him.

Plant converted into cantonment

After the incident, a large number of police were deployed in the plant. Badaun DM Avnish Rai and SSP Dr. Brijesh Kumar Singh also reached the spot. HPCL regional manager Devanand also reached the spot from Bareilly. SSP Dr. Brijesh Kumar Singh said that the accused has been arrested. A case has been registered against him under various sections.

 

 

 

How was the crime committed?

Accused Ajay Pratap Singh is a resident of Saijani village. He used to work as an operator in the plant. But a few months ago he was fired from his job. Since then he was having a dispute with chief manager Sudhir Gupta and deputy manager Harshit Mishra. At around 1 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, Ajay entered the plant with some of his colleagues.

Here the accused started abusing. Both the officers tried to stop him. But instead of stopping, the matter escalated further. The accused opened fire on both the officers. Both the officers were immediately taken to the Community Health Center (CHC) located in Dataganj, where the doctor declared them dead.
