Big relief to JDU MLA Anant Singh from MP-MLA Court, stay on arrest

Gopalganj. Mokama’s JDU MLA Anant Singh has got a big relief from Gopalganj MP-MLA Court. After hearing the anticipatory bail petition filed in the arms display case, the court has stayed the arrest of the MLA till May 30.

The court of District and Sessions Judge-III cum Special Judge of the MP-MLA Court Rajendra Kumar Pandey will hear the petition related to his anticipatory bail on May 30.

The video of the Upanayana program went viral

The entire matter is related to a program organized in Semraon village of Mirganj, where a video went viral on social media. An FIR was lodged on charges of openly displaying weapons and obscene dance in front of the MLA who had gone to the Upanayana programme. In this case, FIR was lodged against 9 people including MLA Anant Singh and artist Gunjan Singh. The matter had gained momentum.

On behalf of the defence, Advocate Kumar Harshvardhan of Patna High Court and Advocate Rajesh Kumar Pathak of Civil Court, Gopalganj presented their case in the court. There it has been described as a political conspiracy and an edited video. After which the court ordered an immediate stay on the arrest of MLA Anant Singh. However, the JDU MLA has got a big relief. The political turmoil had increased after the matter came to light. There were continuous attacks from the opposition. Now all eyes are on the hearing to be held on May 30.
