Major terrorist attack in Pakistan, bomb blast in convoy of ambassadors of 11 countries including Russia

There has been a terrorist attack on a convoy of diplomats from 11 countries in Pakistan. The incident happened on Sunday. The terrorists targeted the police van which was protecting the convoy of foreign envoys going from Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan to Malam Jabba.

The terrorists blew up the van with a remote-controlled bomb. One police officer died in the blast. Four others were injured. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital of Saidu Sharif. A large number of police forces have been deployed at the spot.

The van was at the front of the convoy

According to Geo News, District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan said that the attack was aimed at a group of foreign diplomats. The deceased policeman has been identified as Burhan. The injured also include a sub-inspector. The van that was targeted was at the front of the convoy.

All ambassadors are safe

Police officials said that all the ambassadors are safe and have been sent to Islamabad. According to the police, all the ambassadors attended the Chamber of Commerce program in Mingora. After this, they were going to Malam Jabba. Then this blast took place in Sherabad. The convoy included ambassadors of 11 countries including Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Ethiopia, Portugal, Russia.

The President condemned the attack

Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned this incident. Zardari paid tribute to the police officer killed in the attack and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Let us tell you that no organization has taken responsibility for the attack so far.

Terrorist attacks increase in Pakistan

Terrorist incidents have increased in Pakistan since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Terrorist organizations have gained further strength in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. According to data from the Pak Institute for Peace Studies, last month saw a sharp increase in deadly attacks in both provinces.

The number of terrorist attacks was 38 in July. But it increased to 59 in August. In August, 25 people lost their lives in 29 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
