Lifestyle Desk – There is a trend in the homes of us Indians to have heavy breakfast. Before going to school, college or office, people leave after having breakfast with a full stomach so that the stomach remains full for a long time and energy is maintained and in most of the houses paratha is made for breakfast. If you too are bored with the daily potato, onion or paneer parathas and want to try something different, then pickle paratha is a great option. Achari Paratha is a spicy and quick snack made with the flavor of pickle spices and oil. So let’s know its recipe.
Material
Wheat flour-2 cups
Any pickle masala – 2–3 tbsp (mango pickle is best)
Pickle oil – 1–2 tbsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Celery-½ tsp
Green Coriander – 1 tablespoon finely chopped
Salt – as per taste
Water – as required
ghee or oil for baking
Method
- Take flour in a big vessel. Add pickle masala, pickle oil, celery, green coriander and salt as required.
- Mix everything well. Add water little by little and knead a soft dough.
- Keep the dough covered for 10-15 minutes. Now make balls of dough and roll them like paratha.
- Heat the pan and lightly fry the paratha from both the sides. Then apply ghee or oil and bake until golden and crisp. Hot Achari Paratha is ready.
- Adding a little Kasoori Methi to the pickle masala further enhances the taste. You can also add finely chopped onion or boiled potato to it. If you like spicy, add green chillies and a little extra pickle masala. Achari Paratha tastes delicious with curd, raita, green chutney, butter or hot tea.
