The taste of Idli is mild and simple, so it can easily be given a new twist and made into a delicious snack. Today we are telling you an easy recipe to make crunchy and spicy idli pakodas from leftover idli, which children and adults alike will like.
Material
Leftover Idli-4-5
Gram flour-1 cup
Rice flour-2 tbsp
Red chilli powder-1 tsp
Turmeric-½ tsp
Celery-½ tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
A pinch of asafoetida
Salt to taste
Coriander – a little finely chopped
Water – as required
oil for frying
Method
- First of all, cut the idli into pieces of desired size.
- Mix gram flour, rice flour, red chilli, turmeric, celery, coriander powder, asafoetida, salt and green coriander in a bowl.
- Prepare a thick and smooth batter by adding water little by little. Heat oil in a pan.
- Coat the idli pieces well in the gram flour batter and put them in hot oil.
- Fry on medium flame until golden and crisp.
- Take out the prepared idli pakodas on tissue paper to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot idli pakodas with green chutney, tomato sauce or coconut chutney. This easy and delicious snack prepared from leftover idli also tastes great with tea.
