Baked Pizza Puff Recipe: Finding healthy and tasty snacks for children is often difficult. In such a case, these baked pizza puffs are a perfect option. Not only are they easy to make, but children also love their taste. Moreover, they are healthy because they are baked in the oven, which means less oil is used. So, let’s make these delicious and crispy pizza puffs at home.
4 puff pastry sheets
2 tablespoons cheese or paneer
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers, corn)
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Step 1: Preparing the Puff Pastry
First, lightly roll out the puff pastry sheets. If the sheets are taken from the refrigerator, let them sit at room temperature for a while so that they can be rolled out easily.
Step 2: Preparing the Filling
In a bowl, add chopped bell peppers, tomatoes, sweet corn, onions, and paneer. Add black pepper, chaat masala, and salt. Now add a little tomato sauce and mix well.
Step 3: Filling the Puffs
Place the filling on each piece of puff pastry. Then fold the puff in half and press the edges well so that the filling does not come out. You can also decorate the edges by pressing them with a fork.
Step 4: Baking
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the prepared puffs on a baking tray and bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top. Step 5: Serving the Baked Pizza Puffs
Serve the baked pizza puffs hot. You can serve them with ketchup or your favorite sauce.
Some Extra Tips
Always take the puff pastry out of the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a while so that it can be easily rolled out without breaking.
Don’t overcook the vegetables in the filling; lightly steam or boil them so that they remain soft yet retain their crunchy texture.
Don’t make the pizza sauce and cheese mixture too wet, otherwise, the puff pastry will become soggy and won’t be crispy.
Brush a little butter or ghee on top of the puffs before putting them in the oven; this will make them golden brown and crispy.
Do not keep the oven temperature too high. Bake at approximately 180-200 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown, puffed up, and crispy.
Keep the spices mild for children. Don’t add too much spice or salt so that children will also enjoy them.
Let the puffs cool down a bit after baking before serving. This will allow the cheese and filling to set, and the puffs won’t break.
