Make Sabudana Fruit Custard for fasting during Navratri, it tastes delicious even without sugar…

During Navratri fasting, people often get bored of eating the same old Sabudana Vada or Khichdi and, when it comes to Chaitra Navratri, they feel like eating something cold and healthy. In such a situation, today we will share with you a very special recipe of Sabudana Fruit Custard for fasting. The biggest feature of this recipe is that there is no sugar used in it, natural dates and dry fruits are used for sweetness. This custard, rich in makhana, almonds and fresh fruits, will not only keep you energetic throughout the day, but will also eliminate the craving for sweets. So let’s know its recipe.

Material

Sabudana-½ cup
Milk-1 liter
Dates-6 to 8
Almonds-10 to 12
Makhane-1 handful
Apple (chopped) – 1 small
banana-1
Pomegranate seeds-½ cup
Cardamom powder-½ tsp
Ghee-1 tsp

Method

  1. Wash the sago and soak it in water for 30-40 minutes.
  2. Heat some ghee in a pan and fry the makhana and almonds in it until they become light golden. When they cool down, cut them into thick pieces.
  3. Add some milk to the dates and grind them in the mixer so that a smooth paste is formed. This will give the natural sweetness of the custard.
  4. Boil milk in a pan. Add soaked sago in it and cook on medium flame until the sago becomes transparent.
  5. Now add date paste in it and cook for 2-3 minutes. Also add cardamom powder. Switch off the gas and add roasted makhana, almonds and chopped fruits (apple, banana, pomegranate).
  6. Keep it in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours. When cooled, it will become thick and tasty like custard. Add some more dry fruits on top and serve. Can be eaten as breakfast or evening snack during fasting.
