Make sesame laddus at home
Winter season and sesame laddus – it seems as if the association of both is a part of tradition. These laddus not only provide energy to the body in cold weather, but their taste is also liked by people of all ages. This traditional sweet made of sesame and jaggery is beneficial for health and very easy to make. Let us learn the easy recipe for making sesame laddus.
Required Materials:
• White sesame – 1 cup
• Jaggery – 3/4 cup (grated)
• Ghee – 2 spoons
• Water – 2-3 spoons
• Cardamom powder – 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Method to make sesame laddu:
1. Process of Roasting Sesame:
1. Take a clean pan and roast sesame seeds on medium flame.
2. Keep stirring the sesame seeds continuously so that they do not burn.
3. When the sesame seeds turn light golden and smell fragrant, turn off the gas.
4. Take out the roasted sesame seeds in a plate and let it cool.
2. Prepare jaggery syrup:
1. In the same pan, add 2 spoons of ghee and grated jaggery.
2. Add 2-3 spoons of water in it and let the jaggery melt.
3. Cook the syrup on medium flame. When the jaggery mixture becomes slightly thick (sticky but flowable), turn off the gas.
3. Prepare Laddu:
1. Add roasted sesame seeds to the melted jaggery and mix well.
2. If you want, you can increase the taste by adding cardamom powder to it.
3. Let the mixture cool slightly, but do not let it cool completely, as it may become difficult to make laddus when cold.
4. Apply some ghee on your hands and make small laddus from the mixture.
Serving Method:
Cool the sesame laddus and store them in an airtight container. These can be easily stored for 10-15 days. These can be eaten after morning breakfast or with evening tea.
