Ingredients for making Bafouri

Chana dal (soaked) – one and a half cup
Onion – 1
Garlic – 3-4 cloves
Green chilli – 2
Ajwain – 1/2 tsp
Green coriander leaves – 3-4 tbsp
Oil – as per requirement
Salt – as per taste

How to make Bafouri

To make Bafouri, first clean the chana dal. After this wash it with water and then soak it and keep it for 3-4 hours. After the stipulated time, put the pulses in a mixer jar, grind them and prepare a paste. Put the prepared paste in a big vessel. After this, crush the garlic and green chillies and grind them coarsely. If you want, you can also grind it with the help of a mixer. After this, finely chop onion and green coriander leaves.

Now add crushed garlic and green chillies to the chana dal paste and mix. After this, add finely chopped onion and green coriander leaves to the paste. After this, add carom seeds and salt as per taste to the gram paste and mix everything well. The paste for Bafouri is ready. Now place a steamer pot on the gas and heat water. Grease the steamer attachment plate with oil.

After that, make round balls from the prepared paste and place them on the steamer plate. After this, keep the Bafouri to cook in steam. In 20-25 minutes the Bafouri will be cooked thoroughly with steam. After the Bafouri is cooked, turn off the gas and take out the Bafouri from the pot in a bowl. Tasty Bafouri is ready for breakfast or snacks. Serve it with green chutney or sauce.
