Ingredients needed to make chili pasta:
–Pasta (penne, macaroni or any kind) – 2 cups
– water – to boil
– Salt – 1 tsp
– Oil – 1 tsp
For the sauce:
– Oil – 2 tbsp
– Garlic – 4-5 cloves (finely chopped)
– Onion – 1 (cut into thin slices)
– Capsicum (red, green, yellow) – 1 cup (cut into thin slices)
– Tomato – 2 (grated)
– Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
– Red chili sauce – 1 tablespoon
– Soya sauce – 1 tsp
– Chili flakes – 1 tsp
– Oregano or mixed herbs – 1 tsp
– Salt – as per taste
– Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
For garnish:
– Green coriander or basil leaves – 2 tbsp
– Chili flakes and cheese (optional) – for topping

How to make chili pasta
1. Boiling the Pasta:
1. Boil water in a large vessel. Add salt and oil in it.
2. Add pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes until it becomes soft.
3. Drain the pasta, wash it with cold water and keep aside.
2. Preparing the Sauce:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add finely chopped garlic and fry until light golden.
3. Add onion and capsicum. Fry them on high flame for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add grated tomato and cook on medium flame until oil separates.
5. Add tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, and soy sauce. Mix well.
6. Add chili flakes, oregano, black pepper and salt. Cook the spices well.
3. Mixing the pasta:
1. Add boiled pasta to the prepared sauce.
2. Mix gently so that the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
3. If needed, add some leftover pasta water.
4. Serving:
1. Transfer the chili pasta to a serving plate.
2. Garnish with chili flakes, grated cheese and green coriander.
3. Serve hot.
