Women Commission's order after Kanpur massacre, male tailors cannot take women's measurements

After the 'Ekta massacre' of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission has taken many important steps regarding the safety of women. The Commission has issued orders that male tailors will no longer be able to take measurements of women, and it will also be mandatory to appoint female trainers in gyms and yoga centres. Along with this, many other important steps have been taken.

Essentiality of women employees

The Women's Commission has said that there should be female trainers and employees for women in gyms, beauty parlors and boutiques. During the public hearing, the Commission came to know about many such incidents where male employees behaved indecently with women. Especially in gyms where 99% of the trainers are men, women have to face inconvenience and exploitation. Complaints have also been received about men doing makeup on women in beauty parlors. The Women's Commission has ordered that only female employees should work for women's make-up and dress up.

Complaints of bad touch by male tailor

The Women's Commission has also received information that male tailors in boutiques touch women while taking measurements. To prevent such incidents, the Commission has recommended appointing women employees in boutiques and clothing stores. The Commission believes that this will provide a safe and comfortable environment to women.

CCTV surveillance and police verification

The Women's Commission has also talked about making arrangements for CCTV in gyms, beauty parlors and coaching centres, so that any untoward incident can be detected immediately and the accused can be caught. Along with this, the Commission has also ensured that police verification of male employees working at these places is done, so that no suspicious person is hired.

Compulsory presence of female security personnel in school bus

The Women's Commission has also given instructions regarding security in schools and educational institutions. Now the presence of female security personnel or female teachers will be mandatory in all school buses. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of children, especially girls.
