New Delhi. The political atmosphere is getting heated before the assembly elections in West Bengal. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in South 24 Parganas and launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress government. A few hours later, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee retaliated in Kolkata and made serious allegations against both the BJP and the Election Commission. Now before the elections, political rhetoric and allegations and counter-allegations have intensified in the state.

In his rally, Amit Shah accused the Mamata Banerjee government of doing appeasement politics and claimed that this time the departure of Trinamool Congress is certain in the elections. BJP leaders said that Parivartan Yatra has been taken out to bring political change in the state. In the rally, BJP President Nitin Naveen and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also cornered the state government on the issue of law and order and development.
Mamta Banerjee’s big allegation regarding voter list
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a direct attack on the Election Commission, alleging that a large number of names of genuine voters were deliberately omitted during the special intensive vetting process. He claimed that this action was taken to benefit the BJP. Mamata Banerjee said that this is a worrying and unfortunate situation for democracy.

Mamata Banerjee said that in her own Bhawanipur assembly constituency, names of a large number of voters have been removed. Despite this, he expressed confidence that the public support is with him. Targeting BJP’s Parivartan Yatra, the Chief Minister said that this will prove to be the last political journey of BJP in Bengal.
Politics increased due to major changes in voter list
Following the ongoing special vetting in the state, names of lakhs of voters have been removed from the list and the eligibility of a large number of voters has been kept under scrutiny. The political controversy regarding this has deepened further. On one hand, BJP is calling it a clarification of the election process, while Trinamool Congress is calling it a political conspiracy. As the elections approach, there are signs of Bengal politics becoming more heated.
