What has been revealed in the investigation is heart-wrenching. Arnab’s father Bhishma Kashyap and stepmother Ragini got married about a year ago. Ragini did not want Arnab to have any share in Bhishma’s property. Under this conspiracy, Arnab was called back from his grandmother’s house in August 2025 citing the court order. Nani alleges that the purpose of bringing Arnab back was to torture him and remove him from the way, so that Ragini’s own children remain the sole heirs of Bhishma’s property.

After the death of innocent Arnab, when the police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem, even the team of doctors was stunned. More than 20 injury marks were found on Arnab’s tiny body. According to the report, the innocent child was first beaten badly and then his life was taken by strangulation. On the complaint of grandmother, Chowk police have registered a case under serious sections of murder and destruction of evidence and sent both the accused behind the bars.

Traces of oppression hidden in the bullying and warm clothes of being a lawyer

The aunt and grandmother of the deceased child told that Bhishma Kashyap used to threaten the maternal family by calling himself a lawyer. Whenever Nani tried to meet Arnab, he was brought in front wearing heavy warm clothes so that the injuries on his body could not be seen by anyone. Even on video calls, the child was muted so that no one could hear his screams or sobs. Nani says that Bhishma had also tortured his first wife (Arnab’s mother), who died due to lack of treatment.

DCP’s statement: Steps towards strict action

Giving information about the case, DCP Vishwajeet Srivastava said that taking the grandmother’s complaint seriously, immediate action was taken. The police reached the cremation ground and took possession of the body and arrested the accused from the spot. Both have been sent to jail in judicial custody. Based on the evidence, the police is now preparing to give the harshest punishment for this double murder (physical and mental torture).
