Kanpur. In Hathigaon under Maharajpur police station area of Kanpur Commissionerate, some people resident of the same village murdered a person by slitting his throat. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police station and senior police officers reached the spot and after investigation, the body was sent for post-mortem.
Deputy Commissioner of Police East Satyajit Gupta said that on 16.07.2026 at around 05:30 am, Maharajpur police station received information that the body of Harimohan Yadav, resident of village Hathi village, was lying near the tube well located outside his farm. As soon as the information was received, the local police immediately reached the spot. On preliminary inspection, there appears to be a serious wound on the neck of the deceased caused by a sharp weapon. The body is being taken into custody and the Panchayatnama proceedings are being completed and it is being sent for post-mortem.
Deputy Commissioner of Police East said that talks have been held with the family members of the deceased. In the complaint given by the family members, the fear of murder has been expressed against Mulayam Singh Yadav, Arjun and Shyam, residents of the same village. On the basis of the complaint, instructions have been given to register a case under relevant sections at Maharajpur police station.
The matter is being thoroughly investigated from all aspects. Evidence is being collected by detailed interrogating the family members and other concerned persons. The reason and other facts of the incident will be clearly disclosed soon. Necessary action is being taken in advance as per the legal procedure in the matter.
