Man smashes car window, beats driver after traffic collision in HCMC

Police have arrested a man after he broke a car window and assaulted the driver inside following a traffic collision that hurt no one in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

Ngo Duc Giang, 43, is facing charges of “damaging property” and “causing public disorder.”

Giang admitted to his actions, stating that he was angered when the oncoming vehicle encroached on his lane, leading to a minor collision and prompting his attack on the other driver.

Dashcam footage captured the incident, showing Giang smashing the car’s window and attacking the driver. The video was later shared on social media.

According to the initial investigation, the collision occurred on Sunday night as Giang was driving on Kha Van Can Street in Thu Duc City.

After both vehicles stopped in the middle of the road, Giang exited his vehicle, cursing at the other driver and shouting, “Come out here, come out here!”

When the other driver did not exit the car, Giang approached, used a hard object to smash the window, and punched the driver multiple times in the face and head. The passengers inside the car were terrified and screamed.

The incident was recorded by passersby and widely circulated on social media.
