Man steals Hyundai Accent in 30 seconds as caught on camera in Vietnam

A man stole a Hyundai Accent car in just 30 seconds in Quang Ngai Province and central Vietnam and drove it for approximately 120 km before being arrested at a toll station.

Pham Hoang Huu, 37, is under investigation for property theft, police announced on Thursday.

Earlier that day, at around 10 a.m., the car’s owner had parked his white Hyundai Accent in front of a house on Le Trung Dinh Street in Quang Ngai City in the namesake province.

Soon after, Huu, wearing a black hoodie, swiftly approached the vehicle, unlocked the door with ease, and drove away. The entire theft, lasting just over 30 seconds, was caught on security camera footage.

After the vehicle owner reported the theft, police launched an investigation.

They tracked the car as it traveled south on National Highway 1A and relayed the information to traffic police in neighboring Binh Dinh Province to assist in the pursuit.

At around 2 p.m., as Huu passed through the Bac Binh Dinh toll station in Binh Dinh, police intercepted and apprehended him.
