Police have also recovered the mobile phone and SIM card used to threaten Pappu Yadav from the arrested accused. Police say that he has no connection with Lawrence Bishnoi.
Police said that for the last several days, news of death threats to MP Pappu Yadav from Lawrence Bishnoi gang was being circulated through social media. After this, the police took cognizance and investigated the matter. During this time it was revealed that the name of the person who threatened Pappu Yadav is Mahesh Pandey and he is a resident of Delhi. He was detained and interrogated in Delhi. He has confessed to his crime. He had threatened to kill Pappu Yadav by creating a WhatsApp account in the name of Lawrence Gang from the UAE number registered in his sister-in-law's name.
The accused has worked with MPs and MLAs
Police investigation has also revealed that accused Mahesh has worked with some MPs and MLAs in the past. He had gone to visit UAE some time ago. His sister-in-law lives there. She had taken a SIM in UAE in the name of her sister-in-law. As long as he was there, he used it. On returning to India, she did not return the SIM to her sister-in-law. Then in India he created a fake WhatsApp account with a UAE number and started running it. Meanwhile, he saw Pappu Yadav's statement on Baba Siddiqui murder case in the news. Then he extracted Pappu Yadav's number from the internet and sent the message from UAE WhatsApp account. Police have seized UAE number SIM and mobile phone from the possession of the accused.
