Shiv Shambho sung and composed by Manan Shah, got tremendous response in The Kerala Story 2
There are four songs in the album, in which different emotional layers and musical styles can be seen. Vishal Mishra has sung Sathi Re, which goes well with the dark undertones of the film. Shreya Ghoshal’s song O Mai Ri deeply reflects the feelings of mother and daughter. The Rajasthani folk-inspired devotional song Thari Jogan, sung by debutante Shaoni, and the song Shiv Shambho, composed and sung by Manan Shah, play a key role in the film’s climax.
Manan Shah said that working with producer Vipul Amritlal Shah was special for him as he had previously worked on the Commando franchise and Namaste England. The collaboration with director Kamakhya Narayan Singh gave him creative freedom in both the album and background score. When the audience in the theater responded with slogans and whistles to the songs and background score, Manan Shah was over the moon.
He further explained that his goal was to combine music with Indian classical and folk influences. Working with talented singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Mishra and Shaoni was a wonderful experience for him. His first collaboration with lyricist Manoj Muntashir deepened the emotional fabric of the songs.
Manan Shah had earlier also composed the music of Cheetah for the Marathi film Roop Nagar and it was premiered at the International Film Festival. Apart from this, he co-founded the music platform Gungunalo with Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Akhtar, which gives creative ownership to the musicians.
The music album of The Kerala Story 2 has been successful in leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience. The success of four songs, background score and devotional track has set a new milestone in Manan Shah’s career and his musical journey with the film has become memorable.
