Manipur Violence: Mallikarjun Kharge, said – Modi ji, 'Manipur is neither united nor safe in the double engine government of BJP'

New Delhi. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday made a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center and the state government regarding the Manipur violence. Kharge said that Manipur is neither safe nor united under the double engine government of BJP. Kharge has seriously accused the BJP government of doing politics of division.

'BJP deliberately wants to let Manipur keep burning'

Addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post shared on social media platform X, the Congress President wrote that 'Manipur is neither united nor safe in your double engine government. Since May 2023, Manipur is going through unimaginable pain, partition and violence, leaving the future of its people in ruins. We are saying this with full responsibility that it seems that BJP deliberately wants to let Manipur keep burning so that it can continue its politics of division.

People of Manipur will never forgive BJP for this

Kharge said that the BJP government in Manipur has completely failed and the people of the state will never forgive the BJP for this. Kharge wrote that '17 people have lost their lives in Manipur since November 7 and violence is increasing in the border state. If you visit Manipur in future, the people of the state will never forgive you nor forget what you did to them.

The fire of violence flared up again in Manipur on Saturday and angry people vandalized and set fire to the houses of several MLAs. The angry mob had also moved towards the CM's residence, but the police controlled the situation with great difficulty. On Sunday, the police arrested 23 people in connection with the violence and arson. Curfew has been imposed in the capital Imphal till further orders.
