Fashion designer Manish Malhotra is deeply saddened as his beloved mother Garima Malhotra has passed away. This tragic incident happened on 19 March 2026. His mother was 94 years old. Manish’s mother was very special for him. He considered her his greatest strength, inspiration and always his support. In the last few years, Manish had expressed his love and gratitude for his mother many times on social media.
Last year he had celebrated his mother’s birthday with great pomp at home. While sharing pictures of that party, she had written, ‘Happy Birthday, my dear mother…’ Many big stars like Rekha, Karan Johar, Urmila Matondkar and Manish’s cousin Punit Malhotra were also present on that occasion.
Manish considered his mother as ‘strength, inspiration and best friend’. He also recalled how his mother instilled in him interest in clothes and films and supported him since childhood. After this sad news, many people from the world of Bollywood and fashion have become very sad.
Many stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kiara Advani, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Sonali Bendre, Raveena Tandon, Urmila Matondkar reached Manish’s house and consoled the family.
Many people also expressed their condolences on social media. Manish Malhotra’s team told that Garima Malhotra lived a very beautiful and happy life. His funeral will take place on 20 March 2026 at 10 am at the Hindu cremation ground in Santa Cruz West, Mumbai. There is a wave of mourning in entire Bollywood due to this news.
