Shivnagari echoed with the proclamation of Har-Har Mahadev, grand fair at Nageshwar Mahadev Temple, Nagapur
Nagapur Nageshwar Temple: The festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated with traditional devotion and enthusiasm in the city and surrounding areas on Sunday with deafening cries of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bam-Bam Bhole’. Various religious programs including Abhishek, special puja, Kavad Yatra and grand procession of ‘Taktrao’ were organized on the occasion. Since morning, a huge crowd of devotees gathered in all the Shiva temples of the area for darshan.
Special religious rituals were performed on the occasion of Mahashivratri at the historical Nageshwar Mahadev Temple of Nagapur located near the city. Like every year, this year too a huge fair has been organized here. In this fair which lasts for three days, people from nearby villages are coming in large numbers with their families.
Three day fair organized in Nagapur
Sarpanch Rajendra Pawar said that the Gram Panchayat has made extensive arrangements for drinking water and sanitation for the convenience of the devotees. Considering the special importance of Mahashivratri in Indian culture, all the major temples including Sangameshwar Mahadev Temple and Mahadev Temple located on Chandwad Road were decorated attractively.
The procession of Kavad and Taktrao captivated the mind.
The programs started in the morning with Rudrabhishek and puja. After this, Kavad Yatra was taken out from Gandhi Chowk and a grand procession of ‘Taktrao’ was taken out from Shani Temple, in which thousands of Shiva devotees participated.
Nageshwar Mahadev Temple located in Nagapur is considered very ancient and mythological. According to the Mahants, Lord Shri Ram had visited this place while going to Panchavati during his exile period. Due to this religious importance, there is a constant flow of devotees here throughout the year. Special splendor is seen here on Shravan month and Mahashivratri.
Rudraksh distribution by MLA Suhas Kande
On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, 2000 Rudrakshas were distributed to the devotees on behalf of MLA Suhas Kande. On this occasion, many distinguished citizens and Shiv Sainiks including Rajabhau Pawar, Ankush Katkade, Madhubhau Awhad and Bhausaheb Gambhir were present. Strict arrangements were made by the police force under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijay Kare to maintain peace and order.
