Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi said in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program – The youth of the country have ‘amazing talent’
New Delhi, 31 May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the 134th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, “In our country, the way to fight the heat is often found in the kitchen too. You must have noticed that as the heat increases, the taste and type of the kitchen at home changes. At some places water comes out of the pot, at some places the curd starts freezing, at some places raw mangoes start boiling and then the era of desi drinks begins. You are also familiar with desi drinks.
You will find Aam Panna at many places in North India…If you go to Punjab-Haryana you will get Lassi, in Rajasthan and Gujarat it becomes a companion to every meal like buttermilk. Sattu sherbet in Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh… Most of these things have come out of our kitchen… You too enjoy the local drinking water during summer.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke about the recent achievements of Indian athletes in his Mann Ki Baat radio program and said that the national record in 100 meter race was broken thrice in two days at the 29th National Senior Athletics Federation Competition 2026 in Ranchi. PM Modi spoke to Gurinderveer Singh and Animesh Kujur, who talked about their practice, friendship and healthy competition. Gurinderveer Singh said that they were friends and used to help each other in practice, but during the race they are competitors.
Gurinderveer Singh in the Indian Navy said that he is the fastest sprinter of the country and has created a new national record by completing the 100 meter race in 10.09 seconds. Gurindervir’s record-breaking run ended an exciting day in Ranchi.
He briefly set a new national record in the first semi-final with a timing of 10.17 seconds, but it was broken shortly afterwards by fellow sprinter Animesh Kujur with a timing of 10.15 seconds. However, in the final, Gurindervir got the record back in emphatic style with his historic 10.09 seconds finish, while both he and Animesh booked their places for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the sprinter after he became the first Indian to complete the race in under 10.10 seconds in the men’s 100m event.
