Manoj Tiwary on Gautam Gambhir: There is a lot of turmoil going on in the Indian cricket team these days. Team India first lost the Ireland series under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir and Shreyas Iyer. After this he also lost in the England series. Amidst Team India’s continuous defeats, reports of differences of opinion and discord in dressing came to light. Now former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari has given a big statement on all this. He feels that for India to do well in the 2027 World Cup, the team needs to resolve the differences in the dressing room. Let us know what he has said on the rift and differences in Team India.

Manoj Tiwari said a big thing about Gautam Gambhir

Manoj Tiwari said, ‘The control of the team should be given to the captain. This has always been the case with the Indian cricket team, whenever you have given power to the captain, you have seen its results. If you look at any era, you will know the role of the captain. Look at Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. He has done well. You should leave everything to the captain. As a head coach, he wants to give his support but it seems as if he (Gautam Gambhir) is interfering in the captain’s plans. You have to leave everything to the captain.

Manoj Tiwari’s advice regarding 2027 World Cup

Monaj Tiwari said, ‘This is difficult. Now VVS Laxman is there for the Zimbabwe tour and when the Zimbabwe tour is over, Gautam Bhai will come and his record has not been good, I think there are a lot of differences in the dressing room which need to be sorted out before the World Cup and if you want to do well in South Africa in the 2027 World Cup then the playing 11 and the combination should be perfect. This will happen only when you can think of winning.

He further said, ‘You have made Shubhman Gill and Shreyas Iyer the captains, so leave everything to them and let them grow on their own. Give them a free hand to take their own decisions. They are completely ready for it and have so much ability. I have seen him in IPL. Shreyas Iyer has won the trophy. Shubhman Gill has also done well for Gujarat Titans. Sometimes you just have to leave it to them and see what mistakes they make. As long as those mistakes do not affect the game. You have to give them space. If he accepts your decision and you go and talk to him during the drinks break and impose your decisions on him, then there will be no option for a young captain to grow and move ahead. You are just being dictatorial, which is not necessary.
