Maoist Muslim League has become Congress…, PM Modi thundered in Assam, made this special appeal to BJP workers

Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharply criticized the Congress Party, calling it a party that wishes ill for India and supports people with terrorist ideas and said that it refuses to accept India as a nation, and the welfare of the nation cannot be expected from it. He said that the party which refrains from considering the country as a nation and does not show respect towards Mother India cannot do any good to the country. He was addressing a gathering of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers from Assam in the mood for assembly elections.

He also accused the opposition party of only doing appeasement and vote bank politics in Assam and ignoring development and peace. On this occasion, the Prime Minister reminded the BJP workers of the anniversary of the Pulwama (Kashmir) terrorist attack and paid tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in that attack.

He said that the world has seen the way India took action against terrorists after Pulwama. Some people are still trembling due to India’s action. You also saw the power of Mother India in Operation Sindoor. In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned the alleged weaknesses of the Congress towards the nation and terrorism and asked, ‘Does the Congress have the power to take such decisions in the interest of the country?’

He said that Congress can give at most one statement on such occasions. Shri Modi said, ‘The Congress which refuses to even accept India as a nation… which questions what Mother India is, which does not show even the slightest respect towards Mother India… that Congress can never do any good to India.’ He said that the Congress did not give priority to the security of the country, during its time the entire North-East lived in fear and insecurity. When the Congress bought something for security, scams were also done in it. The Prime Minister made plans for roads, roads in the border area for security and development. Mentioned his government’s priorities for development of tunnels, airstrips and other facilities and said that India is enhancing the security of the borders.

He said, ‘Congress is shocked to see all this, it wonders how Modi does all this. She can’t sleep at night and is talking about anything during the day. Today Congress is with every ideology, those who wish bad for India, those who raise slogans of breaking India into pieces, those who want to separate the North-East from India, Congress takes them on its shoulders. Modi said, ‘Congress has become MMC (Maoist Muslim League).’ He called upon his party workers to convey this message to the people (voters) of Assam.

He said that the great river Brahmaputra has a big role in the development of Assam but during the 70 years of Congress rule, only three bridges were built on this river whereas after the BJP led government formed at the Center in 2014 and then the ‘double engine government’ in the state, five new bridges have been built in the last 10-11 years. He said, ‘Congress has given problems to Assam, BJP has given solutions.’

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 5450 crore in the state in a program ahead of this gathering. He said, ‘We had discussed with the students on cruise in the Brahmaputra river. In the coming times, similar river tourism will be further expanded on Brahmaputra. He said, ‘In this time’s Union Budget, work has been done to further strengthen the connectivity facilities in the North-East. As connectivity increases, employment opportunities also increase. Therefore, it has been decided to give thousands of crores of rupees for Assam Highway and other road projects.

Calling upon the party workers to take charge of their respective booths and make BJP victorious again in the state assembly elections, he said, ‘Describing the victory of BJP again in Assam as necessary, he also said that Congress wants to erase the real identity of Assam. The coming 5 years are very important for Assam. During this period, many such projects are going to be completed which will give new wings to the economic growth of Assam. Therefore, a double engine BJP government is once again very important here.

He said, ‘Congress has become more poisonous due to being out of power for 10 years. Congress wants to plunge Assam into unrest and anarchy again. Congress…wants to hand over Assam to infiltrators.” Shri Modi mentioned the success of his government in maintaining peace in the North-East during his tenure and said, ‘For the first time in Assam, comrades belonging to every organization like Bodo, Karbi, Tribal, DNLS, ULFA have left guns and chosen the path of the Constitution of the country. They have taken the path of peace and development.’

Accusing the Congress of only adopting a policy of appeasement in the North-East and focusing on vote bank, Mr Modi said that the BJP and NDA governments are running with the resolve of restoring peace and rapid development in Assam. Therefore, peace is now being established in the same Assam which used to echo with bomb blasts. In Assam, where on an average more than 1 thousand people used to die in violence every year, today the incidents of violence are stopping there.
