Mark Williams Re-Signs with Phoenix Suns on Three-Year Contract

The Phoenix Suns have secured one of their key frontcourt players by re-signing Mark Williams to a fully guaranteed three-year, $38 million contract, ensuring the young center remains part of the team’s long-term plans. The agreement comes after Williams entered the offseason as a restricted free agent.

Williams enjoyed his best NBA season in 2025-26, appearing in a career-high 60 games while averaging 11.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and nearly one block per game. He established himself as Phoenix’s starting center and became an important presence on both ends of the floor.

The 24-year-old joined the Suns after being acquired from the Charlotte Hornets in 2025. Although injuries have affected parts of his young career, Phoenix remains confident in his upside and views him as an important building block for the future.

By bringing Williams back, the Suns continue their strategy of maintaining roster continuity. The franchise has also retained several key rotation players this offseason as it looks to build on last year’s playoff appearance and compete for a deeper postseason run in the Western Conference.

Williams’ combination of size, rim protection, rebounding, and efficient finishing around the basket gives Phoenix stability in the paint. Team officials believe his development is far from complete, making the three-year commitment a worthwhile investment despite his previous injury concerns.

With Williams officially back in Phoenix, the Suns retain one of the NBA’s promising young centers and strengthen the foundation of a roster aiming to remain among the Western Conference contenders heading into the 2026-27 season.
