Martyrdom Day of immortal martyrs of Kakori incident: – ..
The day of 19 December 1927 became a symbol of bravery, renunciation and sacrifice in the history of the Indian freedom struggle. On the same day, the British government hanged three great revolutionaries involved in the Kakori incident – Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Roshan Singh. These heroes sacrificed their lives to free the country from foreign rule.
Ram Prasad Bismil was a strong leader, poet and organizer of the freedom movement. Ashfaq Ullah Khan is considered a living symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity, who placed the country’s independence above religion. Roshan Singh also boldly challenged the British rule and remained firm on his views till the last moment.
All three were convicted in the Kakori railway robbery case, the purpose of which was to intensify revolutionary activities by looting the treasury of the British government. Even before hanging, these martyrs refused to apologize and sacrificed their lives for the country with a smile. Their sacrifice even today inspires patriotism, courage and unity among the youth.
