Maruti Suzuki Launches New Swift Blitz Special Edition

The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most popular hatchbacks in the Indian market since its launch back in 2005. Maruti has now given the Swift a new Blitz special edition for the festive season. It is a mere accessory pack just like all the other special editions launched by Maruti recently but poses great value for someone who is looking to buy a car this festive season.

The Blitz edition will feature a front lip spoiler, a rear underbody spoiler, roof spoiler, fog lamps, door side mouldings, illuminated sill plates on the door, fog lamps, and an interior kit. The accessories in total cost Rs 49,848 and will be provided for free. The Blitz edition can be had with the LXi, VXi, VXi AMT, VXi (O), and VXi(O) AMT. The top end ZXi and ZXi+ variants cannot be had with the Blitz edition.

Mechanically, the car remains the exact same. It features a new 1.2L Z-Series three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 82 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. It can also be had with a CNG option which produces 70 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. Transmission options include either a 5-speed manual or an AMT. The Swift competes with cars like the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Citroen C3, Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.

The Swift has a starting price of Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 9.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The most expensive Blitz Edition variant is the VXi(O) AMT which is priced at Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Swift is the fifth vehicle in Maruti’s lineup to get this treatment in order to provide even more lucrative options to its customers and boost sales in the festive season. They recently launched the Ignis Radiance Edition, Wagon R Waltz Edition, Grand Vitara Dominion Edition and the Baleno Regal Edition which also feature similar accessory packs which can be optioned on top of the cars.
