Keralam Blast: 13 people dead so far in the blast in firecracker factory in Kerala, PM-President expressed grief

Kerala Blast:A major and painful accident took place in Thrissur district of Kerala on Tuesday (April 21). According to the information received, there was a massive explosion in a firecracker manufacturing unit located in Mundathikkode area, due to which there was chaos in the area. So far 13 people have died on the spot in this accident, while more than 25 people have been injured. The condition of 5 of the injured is said to be very serious. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

Many workers were present in the factory at the time of the accident.

According to the information, at the time of the explosion, about 40 workers were working in the shed to make firecrackers. These firecrackers were being prepared for the Thrissur Pooram festival. This sudden explosion engulfed many people, due to which a large number of people got burnt and injured.

Temporary sheds were built between the fields

It is being told that this firecracker unit was running in some temporary sheds built between the paddy fields. A government official who reached the spot said that food arrangements had been made for about 40 laborers there, from which it is being estimated that the same number of people were present there at the time of the accident.

This accident happened at around 3:30 in the afternoon. According to local people, even after the first big blast, small explosions continued to occur for some time. This caused a lot of problems in the rescue work and the rescue team had to work carefully.

Treatment of the injured continues in the hospital

The injured were immediately admitted to nearby hospitals. 18 people have been admitted to Thrissur Medical College, while other injured are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. State Health Minister Veena George has instructed all the hospitals to make arrangements for better treatment. Besides, ambulance and 108 emergency services have also been deployed at the spot.

PM and President expressed condolences

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu have expressed deep condolences on this tragic incident. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Apart from this, many other leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Pinarayi Vijayan have also expressed grief over this accident and expressed condolences.
