Massive explosion in firecracker factory in Ahmedabad, 8 dead: Blasts shook the area, many injured; PM Modi announced compensation

Ahmedabad. The entire area was shaken by the massive explosions that followed a massive fire in a firecracker factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Saturday. 8 people died in the accident, while 15 people are said to be injured. As soon as the information was received, several vehicles of the fire department reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations along with extinguishing the fire.

According to the information, a sudden fire broke out in the Talent Firecracker Factory of Mehmadpura located on Ramol-Gatrad Road. The fire engulfed the entire factory within no time. The explosive material kept in the factory started detonating continuously, causing chaos in the surrounding area.

After the accident, a thick plume of smoke rising several hundred meters high was visible, which was visible even from far-flung areas. At present, the cause of the fire has not been known and the administration is busy investigating it.

The people injured in the incident were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. The administration has intensified the relief work by keeping the entire area under security cordon.

PM Modi expressed grief, announced compensation-
Expressing deep sorrow over the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), it was said that financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Along with this, wishes were also expressed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
