Massive fire broke out near Palam Metro in Delhi, 9 people burnt to death, 2 people jumped from the building.

Bureau Prayagraj- Nine members of a family, including three children, died in a fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential building in south-west Delhi’s Palam area on Wednesday morning. The officers provided this information. Officials said two people jumped from the building to escape the fire and were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received information about a house fire in a building near Palam Metro station around 7 am, following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and an operation was launched to extinguish the fire and rescue the people trapped inside.

A DFS official said, “A fire has been reported in a residential building and we feared that some people may be trapped inside. Rescue operations were immediately launched.” Visuals from the scene showed thick plumes of black smoke rising from the building, while flames engulfed parts of the building.

Officials said DFS personnel evacuated seven people from the building, including three children, who were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. Two others jumped from the building due to the flames, they said. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
