Massive fire in Noida factory, 30 workers burnt, people jumped from windows

A massive fire broke out in a factory in Harola located in Sector-4 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning and many workers working inside the building got trapped. This entire incident happened around 5:00 in the morning when suddenly flames started appearing from the factory. Within no time the fire spread and black smoke started coming out from the entire building. According to onlookers, the smoke was so dense that nothing could be clearly seen around and the flames had started reaching other nearby units.

 

People trapped inside the factory had no way out as the fire had spread to the stairs. To save their lives, some workers started jumping down from the windows of the second and third floors. The local people present on the spot showed understanding and spread mattresses and bedsheets below so that people could be brought down safely. More than 10 people have been seriously injured in this accident. Those who were immediately admitted to the nearby district hospital through ambulance.

Rescue operation of fire engines

As soon as information about the fire was received, more than 12 vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. Fire fighters faced a lot of trouble due to narrow streets and fierce flames. Employees trapped inside are being taken out by breaking windows with the help of hydraulic platforms and stairs. Heavy police force has also been deployed on the spot so that the rescue work can be carried out properly.

Cause of damage and fire

In this massive fire, the finished goods and raw materials kept inside the factory were completely burnt to ashes and the loss is estimated to be crores of rupees. In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire is believed to be electrical short circuit. Officials say that after the fire is extinguished, it will also be seriously investigated whether the necessary equipment to deal with fire was present in the factory or not and whether the fire NOC of the building was renewed. At present, the search operation is going on so that the possibility of anyone being buried under the debris can be completely eliminated.
