Mathura Boat Accident Video: A major accident occurred when a steamer filled with devotees capsized in the Yamuna river on Friday in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. 10 people died in this accident, while 5 people are still reported missing.
According to the district administration, the steamer has been taken out of the river after a rescue operation that lasted for about 10 hours. The steamer has been completely damaged, but the search for the missing devotees is still going on.
10 people died
It was told that a total of 37 devotees were aboard the steamer. Of these, 10 have died, 8 are injured, 14 are safe and 5 are still missing. Earlier it was feared that some people might be buried under the steamer, but even after the steamer was released, no trace of them could be found. A video of this accident has also surfaced, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this, some devotees are seen drowning in the river.

The administration has appealed to the people not to spread any kind of rumor and maintain peace. Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said Punjab and the local administration are in constant touch and teams have been sent to assist. Besides, 24×7 helpline numbers have also been issued in Jagraon and Ludhiana.
Mathura district administration has also issued helpline number 0565-2403200. Apart from this, the mobile numbers of District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate and SP Rural can also be contacted.

PM Modi expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over this accident. He has announced an assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
