Matt Fisher, Blair Tickner Returns to New Zealand Squad for Bangladesh Series

The pacers Matt Fisher, Will O’Rourke and Blair Tickner have returned to the New Zealand squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh.

The trio is set to return to international contention after injury layoffs during the home summer. O’Rourke has been selected for the ODI series, Fisher returns in the T20I setup, while Tickner features in both squads of the New Zealand tour of Bangladesh 2026.

However, Mitchell Santner will be missing due to his IPL 2026 commitments, and Tom Latham will captain the sides in the ODI and T20I formats.

Meanwhile, off-spinner all-rounder Dean Foxcroft also earns a recall to the white-ball setup, returning to the national side for the first time since his last T20I appearance in April 2024 after an impressive domestic run.

Head Coach Rob Walter was pleased to have his options with a crucial white-ball tour in tough sub-continent conditions.

“Will, Blair and Matt have been working very hard over the past few months to get themselves back on the park and back in contention for selection, and we’re pleased to welcome them back into the group.

“With the amount of cricket being played in the modern game, having depth in our bowling stocks is key. Having players of this quality come back is great for our side.”

New Zealand will be aiming to bounce back from a defeat against South Africa at home, while Bangladesh will be aiming to build their momentum after a superb ODI series win against Pakistan.
