Matt Renshaw Shines as Australia Seals Series Win Against Bangladesh
A stunning knock from Matt Renshaw has sealed Australia’s series win after a narrow 7-run victory against Bangladesh at Chattogram.
His unbeaten 89* runs off 52 deliveries has set up Australia to post a decent total and successfully defended the total.
After choosing to bat first, Australia’s Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings while Nasum Ahmed opened the bowling attack.
Nasum Ahmed bagged the first wicket for Bangladesh dismissing Joshn Inglis for 11 runs. Nahid Rana picked the second wicket for Tigers dismissing Cooper Connolly for 1 run.
With Mustafizur Rahman bagging the wicket of Mitchell Marsh for 20 runs, Australia lost 3 wickets for 44 runs.
However, a partnership from Tim David and Matt Renshaw has revived their innings forging a 97-run partnership for fourth wicket.
The partnerhsip included Matt Renshaw’s fifty and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain broke the crucial partnership dismissing Tim David for 45 runs.
Nasum Ahmed bagged his second wicket dismissing Nikhil Chaudhary for 8 runs and with Matt Renshaw and Joel Davies at crease, Australia scored 196 runs in their 20 over innings.

Matt Renshaw remained unbeaten with 89* runs off 52 deliveries which included 4 fours and 5 sixes.
Nasum Ahmed bagged two wickets while, Abdul Gaffar, Nahid Rana and Mustafizur Rahman bagged one wicket each.
Chasing the 197 run target, Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan opened the innings while Aaron Hardie opened the bowling attack.
The duo made a decent start scoring 48 runs for the 1st wicket. Matt Renshaw bagged the first wicket dismissing Tanzid Hasan for 30 runs.
With Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hassan at crease, Bangladesh scored 72 runs in the powerplay.
Soumya Sarkar who came to bat at No.3, got dismissed by Adam Zampa for 15 runs.
Parvez Hossain who came to bat at No.4, added 36 runs before being dismissed by Aaron Hardie. Joel Davies bagged the wicket of settled batter Saif Hassan for 42 runs.
Despite a crucial contribution from Towhid Hridoy (35), Bangladesh was short of runs as they failed to chase the target.
Shamima Hossain (7) and Abdul Gaffar (13*) did not make up as they suffered a narrow seven-run defeat against Australia.
The final T20I match of the series will be played on June 21 at Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, Chattogram.
