MCA’s first Women’s T20 Mumbai League begins, Rohit Sharma launches the trophy
Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has started the women’s edition of T20 Mumbai League. The move will take women’s cricket to new heights after three successful seasons in the men’s league. Rohit Sharma unveiled the trophies of both the men’s and women’s versions in Mumbai on Saturday.
Rohit said, ‘I feel proud to see the growth of Mumbai cricket. This league has become a golden opportunity for the youth. Many players from here reached IPL and Indian team. He appreciated the hard work of MCA and said that the tournament has become more grand with the inclusion of women’s teams.
After the success of last season, this time three women’s teams will enter the field. Indian women cricketer Sayli Satghare said, ‘Thank you MCA. Cricket is like a passion in Mumbai. This will give more opportunities to girls.
The schedule has not been announced yet, but like last year it is likely to be held in June after the IPL. This league will prove to be a milestone for the rising stars of Mumbai.
