MECOFMSCI National Karting Championship: Arafat Shaikh, Riwan Dev Pritam become winners

CHENNAI Chennai: Local lad, 11-year-old Rivaan Dev Preetham (MSport) won the fifth and final round of the MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship Rotax Max Classes 2024 jointly organized by Madras Motor Sports Club on Sunday. Micro Max continued its dominance in the category and retained the title. In the Senior Max category, Ruhaan Alva (MSport) emerged as the national champion, while Pune's 12-year-old Arafat Shaikh (Crest Motorsports) collected enough points to take the crown in the Junior Max category, while Chennai's Ishant Vengatesan (MSport) won the Pre- Performed a double by winning both the final and final.

All three national champions qualified to represent India at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Sarno, Italy from October 19 to 26. On a day of exciting action, Rivan was cheered by his supporters but had to work hard for his victory in the pre-final but finished second behind Chennai's Rehan Khan (MSPORT) in the final, which was an exciting encounter . Rehan overtook Rivan at a few corners before the finish and took the win. ​​The competition in Junior Max was very tough. Eshanth Vengatesan dominated the heats, pre-finals and final and won after starting from pole position. However, his efforts were not enough to win him the championship. Arfath Shaikh faced some stiff opposition from traffic and behind the leader, but ultimately, he scored enough points to win the championship.
