The Ayushman Bharat scheme launched for senior citizens is very effective. This scheme is very beneficial for all senior citizens whose age is 70 years or more and provides them better insurance. In Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), senior citizens are provided an additional top up of ₹ 5 lakh.
What kind of benefits do senior citizens get under AB PM-JAY?
Let us tell you that many types of benefits are also given to the customers in this. Such as medical examination, treatment and consultation. Along with this, pressure facilities will also be provided to senior citizens. At the same time, ICU, transportation and food charges, help in problems occurring during treatment and post hospitalization for 15 days will also be provided.
The senior citizens of the families who are being given the benefit of these schemes will be provided an additional top up coverage of Rs 5 lakh per year. They will not need to share it with their family members. The families who are not a part of this scheme will be given a cover of Rs 5 lakh per year on family basis. Those who have private insurance can avail this benefit. The elderly who are taking advantage of other government schemes can either continue with it or choose AB PM-JAY.
