According to media reports, it also became the first Golden Jubilee film for the director and was the seventh-highest-grossing film of 1978.

Besharam

Directed by comedy actor Deven Verma, Besharam hit the big screen on April 28, 1978, just a week after Kasme Vaade. The movie featured Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, and Amjad Khan and achieved moderate box office success.

Trident

Featuring an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Raakhee, Poonam Dhillon, Sachin, and Waheeda Rehman, Trishul was directed by Yash Chopra and written by Salim-Javed. The film was released on May 5, 1978, a week after Besharam, and became a massive blockbuster, ranking as the second-highest-grossing film of 1978.

Don

Another remarkable hit by Amitabh Bachchan was Don. Now considered a cult classic, the film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Iftekhar, Satyen Kappu, and Om Shivpuri. Directed by Chandra Barot, it was released on May 12, 1978, and became the third-highest-grossing film of that year.
