Why should I do it, and for whom? It feels right to pay rent every month and just live. The money you would use to buy a house, you can keep in your bank and use it to pay the rent.”

He also shared his reasoning behind this decision, stating, “I believe you should give something to people while you’re alive, not leave everything behind when you’re gone.” He acknowledged that while he did buy a house for his mother in Shimla, it was more out of a playful comment he made to her, saying, “Your son is a big star.”

Talking about his wife, Kirron Kher, Anupam mentioned that initially, she found his decision odd, but she eventually agreed. He also revealed that Kirron has her own home in Chandigarh.
