This actor made headlines with his debut film in 1990 and became an overnight sensation. Scroll down to read the name.

The Khans of Bollywood, namely Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan, have ruled the industry for decades. Over the years, all three Khans have delivered numerous hit films. However, did you know that there was once an actor who gave a major hit in 1990 and became an overnight sensation? His performance in the film, which also starred Anu Aggarwal, made headlines, and after the movie’s success, he became everyone’s first choice. While the 90s were dominated by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, this actor momentarily surpassed their popularity with just one film.

That actor is none other than Rahul Roy. Following the success of Aashiqui, directors and producers lined up for him. According to reports, Rahul signed 47 films in just 11 days. But unfortunately, as quickly as his stardom reached its peak, it also declined rapidly. During this period, he acted in films such as Ghazab Tamasha, Sapne Sajan Ke, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi, Game, Gumrah, Majhdaar, and Naseeb. However, his fame didn’t last long, and none of his films achieved the same level of success as Aashiqui.

After delivering a series of flops, he gradually faded away from Bollywood. In 2006, he made a comeback through the reality show Bigg Boss, where he emerged as the winner. But even after that, he couldn’t secure a strong foothold in films again. The actor last appeared in the 2023 film Agra. Despite multiple efforts, Rahul could not regain his earlier impact in the industry.

The actor experienced a series of challenges in 2020. In addition to facing difficulties in his acting career, he also suffered from a heart attack and a brain stroke. He underwent medical procedures and treatment for several weeks.

As for the Khans of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his upcoming release King, helmed by Sujoy Ghosh. The movie will also feature SRK’s daughter, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. On the other hand, Salman Khan will next be seen in Sikandar. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, boasts a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, and Sathyaraj. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has taken a step back from acting but has produced the superhit Laapataa Ladies.
